She advises local and international clients on complex regulatory matters, ensuring their policies remain aligned with the rapidly evolving landscape of local cybersecurity, cybercrime and artificial intelligence (AI) laws.
Drawing on her extensive experience in criminal law, Puteri offers strategic and practical guidance to clients during dawn raids conducted by various regulatory authorities.
Puteri is also committed to empowering clients through tailored whistleblowing training programmes, equipping them with the knowledge to foster transparency, accountability, and compliance with local laws.
Career
Prior to joining Zaid Ibrahim & Co., Puteri was the sole Associate at a boutique Malaysian criminal law firm, where she gained comprehensive and hands-on experience in criminal litigation. She regularly appeared before all levels of the Malaysian judiciary, demonstrating strong advocacy skills and a deep command of courtroom practice.
Puteri was also actively involved in constitutional law matters, where she appeared before the Federal Court of Malaysia and passionately argued for the fundamental rights of her clients.
Notably, Puteri was part of the team that successfully challenged the constitutionality of Section 498 of the Penal Code. This was a landmark decision that led to the provision being repealed.
