Geraldine Oh

Geraldine is a corporate commercial and transactional M&A lawyer. Her other core practice area is in private equity and funds where Geraldine has acted for limited partners, general partners (both foreign and domestic VC/PE firms) in various capacities including licensing / registration, regulatory advisory, structuring, fund documentation and downstream investments into portfolio companies. She was involved in advising 7 out of 12 selected fund managers in a private capital investment program launched by a Malaysian public pension fund.

On the M&A front, she has undertaken M&A matters in telecommunications, trade, agriculture, hospitality, tourism and technology as lead solicitor, leading to accolades in various legal publications including Chambers where she is a Band 2 Practitioner. She is also a recipient of the Asian Legal Business’ Annual 40 under 40 rankings in 2018 which profiles Asia’s most accomplished lawyers under 40 for her work in a high-value telecommunications joint-venture in the ASEAN region, valued at USD 1.7 billion.

Geraldine returned to the partnership at Zaid Ibrahim & Co after having been seconded to the former ZICO Law ASEAN offices in Myanmar, Thailand and thereafter, to KPMG Law in Vietnam in Cambodia for approximately 10 years combined. Geraldine brings with her on the ground and hands-on regional and cross-border experience having completed award-winning deals in ASEAN. She currently leads the ASEAN desk at Zaid Ibrahim & Co. Prior to relocating to the various ASEAN offices, Geraldine practiced in Malaysia for several years where she started her career in disputes and has several reported judgments in the Malaysia law reports including Court of Appeal and Federal Court judgments.
